My First Giveaway!

So yesterday in the middle of me practically having a melt down after finding out we may be having the baby this Saturday and not July 29th (I'm 2 1/2 weeks from my original due date I shouldn't be freaking!) a large package arrives at my door step. Don't you just love when this happens? Inside is my Soda Club Fountain Jet. Even though it is Madison's nap time and she is in her room picking out her nap time stories I can't help but tear the box open. Inside is a shiny new soda fountain, the carbonation tank and a bunch of yummy sounding soda flavors. When Madison sees this new gadget her eyes light up in excitement and says"No nap Mom we have to play with this!". Wrong I told her it was a soda machine for a soda party we were going to have once Daddy got home. Madison's first question after nap time, "Is Daddy home yet?".

Once Justin got home we started our little party. I had the two bottles of plain old water chilled and ready to go. We put the Fountain Jet together in less than 5 minutes and started making our first batch of soda. At his point I was so psyched 'cause I have not had soda since trying to become pregnant last summer and before then I was a soda fiend. Madison has had Sprite or root beer on several occasions but never any hard stuff like Coke or Pepsi. For the sake of the review I figured what the heck we'll hit the hard stuff and gave the Cola a whirl.

In the directions we read that we would hear a loud buzz after several presses of the carbonation button but I never heard anything more than a hiss. This resulted in me over carbonating the water. Oh well it was my first try so we still have to work out the kinks. After carbonating the water I unscrewed the bottle from the carbonator and added the Cola flavoring. No I didn't read that you should tilt the bottle and add the flavoring slowly. The result was having soda fizz up to the top of the bottle and overflowing all over my baby shower thank you cards. Strike two for me! Finally when we got to taste the finished product we all liked what we tasted. Madison LOVED the fact that Mommy and Daddy were letting her have a taste of soda! Justin said he couldn't taste the difference between this cola or any major brand. Like I said I used to be a fiend and would only drink Pepsi so I could taste a slight difference but nothing that major. Overall I was pretty impressed!

For our second batch we gave the orange soda a whirl. I gotta tell you that this was pretty darn good and so far my favorite. We still have more to try and I plan to order the cream soda and the flavor that is comparable to Dr. Pepper. I also love the fact that they are going to start offering tonic. Vodka tonics are a favorite cocktail with my family and whenever they are over we blow through a fair share of those tiny tonic bottles. Being able to make our own will not only save money but cut back on our household waste big time! I also love that the Fountain jet doesn't need batteries or electricity so you can literally take it anywhere.

So how would you like to win one for FREE? Yep thought that might get your attention. Not only did Soda Club send me a Fountain Jet to review they are also graciously sending one to one of my readers!

My favorite part of the Fountain Jet is: » "Smart value. Enjoy seltzer for as low as 18 cents per liter and soda for 50 cents per liter. Avoid wasted, flat soda thanks to reusable carbonating bottles with hermetically sealed caps. Plus, no more can/bottle deposit fees."
Not to mention that you are saving the environment as well.
I do like a good soda every once in a while although, I have worked really hard to get myself off of the "morning Pepsi" and stick to water. I have done this not only to save money, but to get healthier. With the way the economy is right now and having to commute to work any savings is good.

the same thing happened to me - waiting to hear a noise while carbonating & never heard it. i also overflowed the first time while pouring in the flavoring too. luckily i was using danielle's table and not my own LOL

could this be your last post before baby stella is born????

good luck with everything :)

I love that it doesn't have batteries. That is so cool. I am sorta a soda fanatic and LOVE the sound of the root beer. And I think the worst thing in the world is flat soda... so this sounds awesome! Mmmm. I want one so bad! I think if I don't win I might just buy one. :) My e-mail is meichelle_w@hotmail.com

Diet Cranberry-Raspberry! Yum. I had actually checked out this soda maker a couple months ago as my husband goes through a 2-liter of Cherry Coke every day. (Oh, yes he does!) My favorite part of the concept is no longer having to lug heavy bottles in from the car (and they take up a lot of room in the fridge, too). The only thing that stopped me from buying it is that my husband is VERY picky and he thinks it couldn't possibly taste as good as his beloved Cherry Coke. If there were some way to buy samples of the sodas ahead of time w/out investing in the machine first, I would have been all over that!

I really like this fact: No more heavy lifting! Concentrated sodamix makes the same as 36 cans of soda! Large CO2 carbonators are easily exchangeable and make the equivalent of 110 liters of soda! Wow! I hate lifting heavy 12 pks and 2 ltr bottles, so this is great! We'd also like to try the orange flavor...

My favorite thing about is that it replaces having to buy bottles or cans so cuts down on waste/garbage. I also like that the diet flavors contain splenda instead of aspartame. The flavor that I would love to try more than any other flavor is the diet cola! I love diet cola more than any other drink in the world!

I would like to try Energy Drink

It sounds like you had fun with your Foutain Jet Soda Maker! Madison did well to take a nap with a new fun soda machine. I'm not so sure most children would of contained themselves. lol
I have never heard of a soda maker until today. This machine is too cool.I liked the idea of 1 concentrated sodamix makes 12 liters of soda because we have to lug all our groceries up a mountain to the house. There is no road and lugging soda gets down right heavy when lugging it through the woods and over the mountain.Plus lugging the returnables back down the mountain is no fun either~!!! So that is definately my favorite feature about this wonderful machine. Not to mention no electricity or batteries needed.I couldn't believe that they also had all our favorite flavors. Justin and I like cream and Scott likes Grape and I have a son that weight lifts so he likes the energy drinks. One machine with all the right flavors to please everyone in my family. How GREAT is that!?! This giveaway is the Best! Thanks for the opportunity to win one.
